Road Trip!

Steve (Steve Sabellico), Bill (Bill Kingsbury) and Bob (Bob Canning) all have plane tickets to their best friend's wedding. But when Steve's girlfriend of four years decides he's not the one for her, they trash the tickets and hit the road from Los Angeles to Boston, racing at top speed from the city they hate on a 5,000-mile highway to freedom.

Burnin' Vernon Productions presents WISH YOU WERE HERE, written, directed and edited by 23 year-old filmmaker Jason Smith. The film is produced by Bill Kingsbury, who also stars alongside Steve Sabellico, Bob Canning, Michelle Dunker, Britt Erickson, Heather Farley, Elissa Davidson, Bob Burns and Rex Trailer.

"Sometimes you just need to get out of town," says Wish You Were Here Writer/Director Jason Smith. "Los Angeles can mess you up. We knew it was time to get away. That's why we made this movie. "

Actor/Producer William Kingsbury agrees. "The big boys burn all their cash making terrible movies, and the little guys have to work harder to tell a good story with what money they have. We had a good, solid story to tell - but we didn't want to get caught up in all the Hollywood craziness - so we decided to hit the road."

Smith, Kingsbury and the rest of the team behind Wish You Were Here formed Burnin' Vernon Productions to prove one thing: that the "little guy" could do more with less. They shot Wish You Were Here entirely on location - on the road across the United States - telling an epic story of the American Highway.

The movie was shot entirely in digital format, enabling the team to channel crucial dollars elsewhere. "We did something that couldn't have been done on the independent level five years ago - even two years ago," says Producer Bill Kingsbury. "But we're entering a new age of filmmaking. We're pushing the limits of what's possible with the new digital medium. And I think we've proven we have more freedom than ever before."
